In the name of God amen: I Micheal Alexander of the State of North
Carolina in Tyrrell County being weak and low in body but of perfect mind &
memory thanks to God for the same knowing it is appointed for all men once to
die, do constitute & ordain this my last Will & Testament do disanull
& revoke all former Wills Gifts Intails or incumbrances What So Ever from
the just right or claim of any person or persons whatsoever.
First I recommend my soul to God that gave it, and my body to be buried to the
Descretion of my Executors hereafter mentioned & as to my worldly goods I
give as followeth - Viz -
First I give to my loving daughter Mary Pledger one cow & calf, &
one ewe and lamb -
Secondly I give to my well beloved son John Alexander half of a peace of
land lying on the sound side and his part is knoon by the name of Phelpses Neck,
& one bed and furniture and one gun & all the cattle that is in his mark

Thirdly I give to my loving daughter Christian Alexander one Negro garl
calld Esther & one bed and furniture, and one year old mare, and two
cows & calves, and all the cattle that is in her mark, and one linning wheal
, and one chest, and one half of the upper part of the Gumb Swamp Land on the
South side down to a corner Beach on the Stomping Hill -
Forthly I give to my loving son Micheal Alexander one half of a peace of
land on the Sound side and his part next to the sound, and one bed and
furniture, & one french gun, and one young mare & all the cattle in his
mark -
Fiftly I give to my son William Alexander one peace of land lying between
Ludford Alexander heirs land & Levi Cranks land running out to
Isaac Alexanders line and one bed & furniture and one small gun, and
all the cattle that is in his mark -
Sixtly I give to my loving son Abram Alexander one bed and furniture one
whip saw and all the cattle that is in his mark -
Seventhly I give to my loving daughter Martha Alexander one half of the
upper part of the Gumb Swamp Land on the North side down to a corner beach on
the Stomping hill, and one bed & furniture, and two cows & calves and
one desk, one linning wheal, and the cattle in her mark.
Eightly My will and desiere is that my well beloved wife Mary Alexander
have the use of all the remander of my Estate both real and personal during her
widowhood and after to be exposed as follows to my son Abram Alexander
the plantation whare on I now live with the lower part of the gumb swamp land up
to the corner Beach on the Stomping hill then a South corse to Willis Coopers
line - To my sons John Michel William & Abram the land and
stock up Second Creek to be equily devided between them, my horces to be equily
devided between William Abram & Marthy the cattle at my home
plantation to be equily devided between Christian and Marthy - To
my daughter Marthy one Negro Gall calld Diner - To my four above
mentond sons to be equily devid one Negro woman and her increase that she has
hereafter and one Negro boy calld Jorge between them - and the remander
part of my Estate to be equily devided between my children John Christian
Micheal William Abram & Martha to them and their heirs forever -
and I do hereby dessanull all others wills gifts dowries jointors or
incumbreances what ever & do constitute and ordain this my last will and
testament. I do nominate and appoint my loving wife Mary Alexander Executrex,
and my sons John Alexander and Micheal Alexander Executors to this
my last Will tesement -
In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and fixt my Seal this Twenty Sixt
Day of March One thousand seven hundred & Eighty one -
