North Carolina In the of God
Amen. I William Owens of the County of Tyrrel and state of North
Carrolina Being sick of body though perfect in mind and memory thanks be given
to God. Calling to mind the mortality of my body & knowing that is appointed
to all men once to dye do make and ordain this my Last will and Testament that
is to say principally and first of all my Soul I recommend into the hands of
Almighty God that gave it and my body I commend to the earth to be buried in
desent Christan buriel at the discression of my Executors hearetofore to be
named nothing doubting but at the General Resurrection I shall receive the same
again by the power of God and as touching such worldly Estate wherewith it hath
pleased God to Bless me with in this life I give and devise and dispose of in
the manner and form following
Item My desire is that as soon as I am
dead Gone, that my Executors should advertise and sell enogh of my property at
six months credit to pay all my just debts agreeable to law
Item I give and bequeath to beloved son
Amos Owens fifty dollars after my wife Kiziah Owens decease
Item I give and bequeath to beloved son
Edward Owens fifty dollars all ready received
Item I give and bequeath to my beloved
wife Kiziah Owens two feather beds & furnitures first chice & two
cows and calvs first chice and now I lend to my beloved wife Keziah Owens
my plantation wheare on I now live and all the buildings thereon and each and
every thig goods chattels in doors & out and all stocks of cattle sheep hogs
horse during her natural life or widowhood
And what my wife Keziah Owens
leave at her death (I give and bequeath my two beloved sons Amos Owens
and Edward Owens to be equally devided betwene them both and lastly I
appoint my well beloved wife Kiziah Owens and Henry Holmes Senior
my whole and soul Executors of this my Last will and testament I declear this
and pronounce this and no other to Be my last Will and testament disallowing and
revoking all wills by me heartofore made in testimony whearof I have set my hand
and Seal this 26 day September one thosand Eight Hundred and forty two. Signed.

Adam Owens Then was this paper writing brought into court & proved as a Will &
admitted to probate as such on the oath of Adam Owens a witness thereto
& it is ordered to be register.
