Zachariah Hunnings to Adam Owens

North Carolina, SS, To all to whom these presents shall come greeting
and know ye that I Zachariah Hunnings of Tyrrell County for and
in the consideration of the sum of fifteen pounds ten shillings current
money of North Carolina to me in hand by Adam Owens of the same
county and province aforesaid have given granted bargained and sold and
by these presents do fully clearly and absolutely give grant bargain
sell alliance enfeoff release convey confirm assigns transfer and set
over unto him the said Adam Owens his heirs and assigns forever a
track or parcel of land containing by information thirty eight acres
lying and being in the county aforesaid on the East of Alligator River
beginning at a gum on upper corner of Zachariah Hunnings land on Zachariah
Owens line then S 45 E to a holly on upper corner of Zachariah
Owens line, then south a line of marked trees to a sweet gum a
corner tree on the pocosin then W 52 poles to a pine, thence N 45 W to a
line of marked trees then north east along the line to the first station
for the thirty eight acres of land more or less it being part of a tract
of land granted to Benjamin Cowell for one hundred and fifty
acres, bearing date the sixth of December 1753. To have and to hold the
aforesaid tract or parcel of land with all and singular the rights
privileges commodities hereditaments appertaing appendants thereunto
belonging or in any wise appertaining unto him the said Adam Owens
his heirs and assigns forever in as full and ample manner to all intents
and purposes as the most learned in the law can devise free from all
manner incumbrances whatsoever, The conditions and privileges of Lord
Granville granted only excepted unto him the said Adam Owens
his heirs and assigns forever. Further I the said Zachariah Hunnings do
for myself my heirs executors administrators and assigns forever
covenant promise and agree to and with the said Adam Owens his
heirs and assigns that the said Zachariah Hunnings bargained
promises and every part thereof is free and clear from the lawful claim
and demands of me the said Zachariah Hunnings my heirs executors
administrators or assigns also from the claims and demands of all and
every other person whatsoever claiming from by or under me my heirs
executors administrators of assigns or any other of them . In witness
whereof I the said Zachariah Hunnings have hereunto set my had
and seal, the 25 of May anno Domini 1772.
