Zachariah Owens to Adam Owens

North Carolina - To all to whom these presents shall come greeting and know ye that I Zachariah Owens of Tyrrell County for and in consideration of the sum of ten pounds proclamation money to me in hand paid by Adam Owens of the county and province aforesaid hath given granted bargained and sold and by these presence do fully freely clearly and absolutely give grant bargain sell alien enfeoff  release convey confirm assign transfer set over unto him the said Adam Owens his heirs executors administrators and assigns forever a tract or parcel of containing by estimation fifty acres more of less, lying and being in the county aforesaid on the east side of the Alligator River beginning at a back about ten poles along a line formerly belonging to George Whidbey then along his said line south 40° East 46 poles to a pine then s 65° E 166 poles to a pine then NE to the given line then down the given line to the sound then the various courses of the sound and to the first station it beginning part of tract patented by John Mixon for two hundred and ten acres by grant bearing date 19th day of September 1765 reference there unto being had may more fully appear to have and to hold the aforesaid tract or parcel of land with all and singular the rights privileges commodities hereditaments appurtenances and appendants there unto belonging or in any wise appertaining unto him the said Adam Owens his heirs and assigns forever in as full and accruable manor to all intents and purposes as a most learned in the law can devise free from all manner of incumbrances whatsoever the condition and provisions of the Lord Grant only excepted with him the said Adam Owens his heirs and assigns forever further I the said Zachariah Owens do for myself my heirs executors administrators assigns forever convert promise agree to and with the said Adam Owens his heirs and assign that the said bargained premises and every part thereof is free and clear from the lawful claim and demand of me the said Zachariah Owens my heirs executors administrators or assigns also from the claim demand of and every other person whatsoever claiming for by or under me my heirs executors administrator of assigns or any or either of them , in witness where of I the said Zachariah Owens have hereunto set my and seal this the seventh day of February in the year of our lord one thousand seven hundred and sixty nine. Signed sealed and delivered in the presence of us.
