John Owens I, according to Tyrrell County North Carolina Wills, was
married to "Ann". Together they had five children Zachariah
Owens I, Thomas Owens, John Owens II, Adam Owens and Sarah Owens. Adam
Owens was the unborn child at the time John Owens wrote his Will.
The records show that John Owens I died in 1750. It is believed that He and
Ann were the beginning of most (if not all) of the Owens lines now found
in North Eastern North Carolina. (For more information on the family
tree follow the links to Cousin
Christine's web page and the Tombstones link below.)
The purpose of this web site is to attempt to bring together all who
feel they may have descended from John Owens I and his wife Ann. This
site is newly under construction as of this date 1-29-2000. By the
nature of what we are attempting to accomplish we anticipate it will
always be under construction and some parts provisional..
The grandchildren of William
Albert Owens Sr. and Corenthia Idean Sawyer Owens, (8th generation
from John Owens I and Ann) are taking on the responsibility of
organizing both this web page and hopefully an association which will
sponsor an annual outing open to all who may be descendents (direct or
indirect) of John Owens I.
The Webmaster J. A. Owens welcomes the input from all who would like
to see the prospective association become a reality. Please browse
through and visit the "intended pages" then e-mail JA with
your thoughts, comments, and materials you would like to see added.
